How it works
Do you want to make a change in your life, perhaps to cope better with a problem or to work towards a particular goal? The initial consultation helps to form a clearer idea of what you want to achieve.
Each subsequent session combines elements of cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused brief therapy and hypnosis. I provide relevant psychological and neuroscientific insights to help you better understand and address the issue. I use solution-focused questions which help you to identify incremental steps you can take to bring about positive change. Hypnosis assists in developing and consolidating your thinking through deep relaxation which is a very pleasant experience.
Some therapies explore patterns of past behaviour which can raise awareness and achieve change over the long term. Solution focused hypnotherapy is forward looking and provides a positive space to achieve change quickly. The number of sessions needed will vary. For example: treatment of phobias would usually require 4 sessions; smoking-cessation (2-3 sessions); treatment of depression or anxiety may require approximately 8-10 sessions.
